Outstanding News from the Chess World
Kasparov Foundation student IGM Ihor Samunenkov has achieved a remarkable double gold medal victory. Ihor not only secured first place on his board but also triumphed as part of the gold medal-winning National Team of Ukraine at the 23rd European Chess Championship that took place in Batumi, Georgia, on October 4-15.
This exceptional success is a testament to his dedication, talent, and hard work, as well as the guidance he received from his coaches — KCF Academy Director IGM Adrian Mikhalchishin and KCF Academy Lecturer IGM Alexander Beliavsky, who trained the champion Ukrainian team.
The Kasparov Chess Foundation congratulates Ihor and the entire Ukrainian squad on this outstanding achievement. Bravo, Ihor — a shining example of excellence and inspiration for young players worldwide!
