Kasparov Chess Foundation Academy: Third Season Highlights
The third season marked another important year of growth for the Kasparov Chess Foundation Academy, with expanding educational programs, international events, and outstanding achievements by participants in KCF programs.
This year, KCFA helped organize the Kasparov Chess Festival in Radenci, which brought altogether 650 chess players from 33 countries. Following the tournament, the Academy held its first international chess camp, welcoming 65 young players from around the world for chess training, swimming, and other activities. One of the highlights was a visit to the Kasparov Grand Tour, where participants had the opportunity to meet Garry Kasparov for a special photo and autograph session.
The season also featured the highly successful Garry Kasparov Trainers Conference, attended by 150 participants.
Celebrating Our Champions
Participants in Kasparov Chess Foundation programs achieved remarkable results this season. Anastasia Hnatyshyn of Ukraine became European Women's Champion, with congratulations to her coaches Volodymyr Grabinsky and Adrian Mikhalchishin.
Other outstanding achievements included Ihor Samunenkov, who became European Team Champion with Ukraine in 2025, and Lukas Dotzer, a European Youth medalist.
At the 2026 European Youth Rapid Championship, Bozhena Piddubna and Maksym Pankiv, both from Ukraine, became champions, while Dubnevych and Peter Balint earned medals.
The third season reflects the Academy's growing international community and its commitment to developing the next generation of chess players, coaches, and champions.
